{Provence Market Sneak Peek}

Undoubtedly the food market in St.Remy-de-Provence is one of the best markets in the South of France. I say this because it’s both quaint and grandiose, providing the small French market of which you always dreamed.....

{Design: Boudoir & Closet} Designer Dorothee Schumacher

I'm a sucker for a well designed & organized closet and Dorothee Schumacher's closet, photographed by The Selby, has become one of my favorites. It's much more than just your everyday closet -- it's a boudoir; a room equipped with a vanity, stunning lighting, whimsical architectural details, and velvet stools. Wouldn't it be a dream to choose the day's outfit in this space?

THINGS WE CAN LEARN FROM THIS CLOSET:
1. Add romantic lighting...and then add glamorous lighting.
2. Treat a closet like a room and a room like a closet! (Add details that you wouldn't normally find in a closet.)
3. Use shelving for purses
4. Use uniform hangers
5. Use small boxes to contain jewelry

What are your favorites things about this room? Have any tips for creating a great closet/boudoir?

{Top Picks for Carolina Herrera Resort 2013}

Carolina Herrera's Resort 2013 collection is fabulous for these simple reasons -- it's characterized by clean lines, impeccable details, classic (yet updated) silhouettes, and an unusual color palette. Each piece functions an essential element of a wardrobe because each piece can stand completely alone.

 The clothes are playful and yet the collection is fully functioning as totally wearable.

What are your favorites? What would you wear each piece to?

Happy Monday! xo, Jolie

PS What brought me to this collection in the first place was this image, stunning yes?:

{A Refined Home (with some really great details!}

While Summer is not my favorite season, I have to admit that I somehow covet summer decor and fashion (as you may be able to tell by my recent posts.) What is it about a coral pattern or a splashes of navy and white that is so desirable?

 Perhaps it's the fantasy -- it's easy to picture myself on a yacht surrounded by bronzed smiling friends making a meaningful toast. But what I like most about this space is the successful mixing of colors, textures, patters, and shapes.

Details I Enjoy Most: coral ottomans, the small vase of hydrangeas, floor to ceiling curtains, the zebra pillow thrown in for good measure.
The Successful Elements: the gorgeous deep wall color, pillow stripes, a closet fit for shopping in

What are your favorite things about this space? I'd love to read your comments!

{Nautical Fashion Perfection} Etiquette Vintage Design

Completely in love with the Etiquette Vintage Design's summer collection. It's retro yet with a fresh approach. The nautical elements are perfectly paired -- stripes with polka dots? Nautical ensemble perfection!

THE LOOK: navy stripes + wide brimmed hats + petite polka dots + red strappy shoes + rosy lips + braided belts + varsity jackets + classic ties + soft beachy curls + shoulder button details (a yacht and a well-traveled suitcase are added bonuses!)

{Behind the Scenes} 06.10-17.12

While answering emails and prepping for meetings this week, I took some time to reflect on last week's wonderful endeavors -- skillful styling, fresh summer fruit, cocktails made special for me by dear (and talented) friends, gifts from travels. All of this followed by a weekend spent poolside with friends, friends who reminded me just how blessed I am to have such loving people in my life.

I hope your Tuesday is a terrific one!

{Burlesque Style Series} : Ruby Joule

Burlesque Style Series: Ruby Joule // Night & Day

Burlesque Style Series: Ruby Joule // In Her Purse

Recently awarded "Most Classic," Ruby Joule is indeed just that -- most classic! Her style aesthetic is delightfully timeless yet done so in an old world way. She's elegant -- but never stuffy, waspy -- but not preppy, mysterious -- but always kind. She's one of my favorite women with whom I love to share a car ride { or a cocktail hour for that matter} because I'm bound to have sharp conversations about; elite families from another era, socialites, etiquette, art & grammar. Miss Joule is a (pardon the expression) gem to go to the beach with because she is sure to remain glamorous from head-to-toe, she makes no glamorous exceptions for the sea or elsewhere! ---She's the gem you'd love to polish, but who needs no further polishing, Ruby Joule!
