New Year's Eve, I love it! Such a glamorous and joyful occasion filled with the pop of a champagne cork, the perpetual clinking of glasses, the dull roar of cheer in a room full of friends dressed in their wintery best. Tonight I'll be celebrating in a show {you can purchase tickets here} -- a show of live jazz, burlesque, song & dance. What better way to ring in the new?

But before I do so, I'd like to take a moment to count my many blessings {you, my fans are the first counted in this list -- thank you for your love and support!}

Accomplished &; Adored in 2013:
{1} I released my debut album "Say Goodnight Gracey" with the help of friends, fans, & family -- album that you can listen to and purchase here if you like: "Say Goodnight Gracey" on itunes

{2} Since February I produced many "Jolie Goodnight" shows, cultivating a new audience, new band members, and a new love for the courage to go chase my dreams.

{3} I performed at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend, not as a burlesque dancer, but as a singer -- an unexpected and delightful way for me to debut there.

{4} With the help of those who believe in me, I had the absolute pleasure of performing at the Paramount Stateside -- twice. What a dream!

{5} I had a wonderful, successful, fun tour with the Jigglewatts Burlesque Revue -- a whirlwind of great shows, new friends, old friends, beautiful scenery, bonding with Ruby Joule, and happiness.

Along the way-- I rekindled old friendships + healed from the brokenness of great grief & loss + indulged in my marriage that continually grows stronger +   read the autobiography of Katharine Hepburn + sang a couple of tunes with the incredible musicians from the Lincoln Center Jazz Band + rounded out my sharp corners + learned from all the amazing people willing and happy to teach me...

Happy New Year's Eve Darlings! I can't wait to see you in the New Year!
xo, Jolie

{5 Ways to Add Old Hollywood Glamour to Your Home}

{Images from: 1. Traditional Home 2. Patrick}
Five Ways to Add Old Hollywood Glamour To Your Home:
1. Mix metals - Whoever said metals shouldn't be mixed hasn't glimpsed at the magic that happens when a room is filled with gold and silver details accompanied by mirrors and crystal. The result is a beautifully opulent room!

2. A fur (or faux fur) throw - Tossed about on a chair or couch, this room accessory makes any snuggling instantly more glamorous.  (This luxury can also be in the form of a pillow or rug.)

3.  Color Pallette - The go-to-never-fail feminine color pallette tends to be camel, ivory, and soft pink. I'm a fan of also adding small bits of blue here and there (it adds depth.)

4. Art deco lines + Plush furniture - Balance out more comfy couches and chairs with sleek, art deco pieces like tables, bar carts, coffee tables, mirrors, etc.

5. Have a bar set with alcohol, crystal glasses, and an ice bucket - What ALWAYS happens in every hold Hollywood movie? A cock…

7 Spring Favs : Easy Must-Do's

What I love about spring is that it's flirtatious, it's peppy, and it's easy. It's energetic and exciting in a way that's rambunctious in a good way. In fact, I find myself wanting to be all of those things as well.

Flirtatious, peppy, energetic, exciting, and rambunctious!
It's May and before spring melds slowly into Summer, I always like to capture the bouncy moments of the season while I can! It's a time for peppy large arrangements of peonies (my absolute favorite spring flower) or bold arrangements with pops of brightly colored tulips! Before the summer heat creeps in, now is when I love to

1. Eat meals out on the porch
2. Take phone calls in the garden
3. Take walks immediately after spring rain has hit!
4. Change out my linens to bright colors and light textures
    - duvet cover
    - kitchen towels
    - table cloth

Because scent is a major part of spring I also love;
1. Big bouquets of fragrant flowers

2. Using really lovely floral cleaning…

Blossoming from Grief

In 2017 I lost my darling husband, Jason Musick, in a tragic accident, changing my life within seconds. It seems almost needless to say, but after such a tremendous, heart-shattering loss, many parts of my life were put on hold, this blog included.

Truth told I wasn't sure how to proceed with my blog; much of it was based on my life as it existed before his death. The parties we threw, the dinners we cooked, the house we made a home, the vintage lifestyle we lead, the music we enjoyed together. To me those were the products of our love, the promise that we would live a full life together saying "yes" always, especially to the magic life had to offer. Much of the entries, though they were intended to apply to anyone in a relationship or not, were none-the-less from my perspective which was lovingly based on my marriage and partnership that had been in the making for 12 years. How does one write about doing wifely things when one is no longer a wife? My identity as a wife…
