{Spring Fling}

The charming first hints of spring are arriving -- bright green little leaves on the trees in my front yard, breezes just barely warm enough for windows to be wide open...and luckily I will be able to celebrate spring in style again this year.
Last year I had the pleasure of performing at my first annual, "Spring Fling" (see last year's details here&; this year somewhat coincidentally, I will be taking part of another "Spring Fling" show, only this time in a theatre & this time with burlesque beauties.

{Of Chicago & Austin}

It's impossible to document all the activity that's happened, rushing around from snowy places to romantically beautiful sunny places --- what a life!

Chicago firstly, et moi feeling so completely blessed to have had such a fantastic audience (and a fabulously talented impromptu band as well) in a lovely theatre {& we were happily met with a standing ovation.) And while Chicago? Two photoshoots, both completely different from one another.

(1) Vavoom Pinups - a cheery, silly, cheesecake shoot during which Heather made me feel so happy and comfortable. One of my best shoot experiences to date.
(2) Paul Natkin - a roll n' roll photographer extraordinaire & an absolute honor to have shot with such a rockstar

...all of this during a week of best friends, brunch, dinners, and more happiness than I could really ask for.

Secondly, back home to Austin in the bon vivant spirit of love (& multi-tasking) rehearsal & a show with yet another fantastic audience. And thou…

{after arriving in Chicago}

Since leaving Austin, my life has been the greatest whirlwind & although exhausted, there is something I love about showgirl insanity. Friday I performed in Austin, dashed afterward to eat with the girls, rushed (sans sleep) to the airport, where I applied all the necessary warmth layers for Chicago --- chevron hose, a loose dress, a wool sweater, and my Godmother's fur coat.

...and after arriving, it's been trains (luckily embarked with the help of kind strangers,) brunch with precious, dear old friends {roasted cauliflower & pimento omlette with cornbread and cocktails} // next an adventure to an old apartment where I could see the beautiful snow flakes and blankets of snow on the streets below. Next, spiritual happiness after playing in the snow and attending mass at a beautifully gilded old church.
I hope your week is blessed and graceful, and for those of you who live in snow covered places --- remember to enjoy it! xo, Jolie
